Hosted by Dongguk University, OIBFF will screen 56 films from 15 countries.

The inaugural program includes many classics along with recent works, and features a large selection of films from Korea dating all the way back to 1949’s Hometown of My Heart (IBFF 2005 BAY AREA) and a number of films made in 2020.

Buddhist Film Foundation (BFF) provided programming advice and support, and its International Buddhist Film Festival will be presenting a program of Korean Buddhist films in the near future.

OIBFF is only the third new Buddhist film festival in the world since the founding of BFF in 2000, joining the Buddhist Film Festival of Europe (BFFE), following IBFF-EU 2006 AMSTERDAM there, and the Thus Have I Seen Film Festival (THISFF), following IBFF 2007 SINGAPORE there.
