BFF has a team of experienced programmers who are constantly scanning the film world for compelling new and archival works to present. Assembling print source, rights clearances and screening licenses for multiple territories for every film requires time and expertise; this has become a valued in-house resource that is available on a consulting programmer basis to presenters such as museums, schools, film societies, festivals and independent cinemas. BFF has assisted on specialty programming with Smithsonian Institution, Seattle International Film Festival Cinema, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Rubin Museum, Fowler Museum, Buddhist Film Festival Europe, BuddhaFest DC, Red Vic Moviehouse, Smith Rafael Film Center and others. Festival Media is the BFF distribution service, focusing on DVD production, packaging and sales of licensed works in North America. Films selected for IBFF events are eligible for professional and targeted design, production, packaging and marketing services for works to be published by the filmmaker, with distribution through the Festival Media system. For selected film projects, BFF offers strategic funding, development, production, post-production, marketing and outreach consulting. Films selected for fiscal sponsorship have access to this service, and other films that would qualify for sponsorship are eligible to engage BFF consulting for a fee.
